So many questions and concerns run through your head once you find out you are pregnant with twins.
What will I need? Will I have enough space for everything? And a million other things!
One of the main questions was about feedings and how that would look with twins. From my milk supply, to how I would hold them when feeding and what would make this overall process easier.
I initially started looking up what this would entail and what I would need with two babies instead of one!
I then came across twin nursing pillows! The Twin Z Pillow to be exact. I initially thought it was just a double boppy pillow and looked cool. Who knew they made such a thing?
After looking at all the many uses for it (6 in 1) I decided to give it a try. Even if I didn’t use it for nursing, I could still use it for other things, and I did!

INITIAL THOUGHTS OF TWIN Z PILLOW
When I first received the pillow, I was initially surprised at the size and how big it was! The pillow is about 7 lbs and 36 x 24 x 8 inches.
But hey this is for two babies, right?
I decided to start using it about 2 weeks after bringing my twins home and it was a game-changer!
Honestly, I only nursed my twins in this pillow maybe twice. No specific reason, I just wasn’t a fan of nursing them at the same time when they were really small. I actually preferred to use it for everything but that!
8 BENEFITS OF THE TWIN Z PILLOW
1. Lounger – This is my twin’s lounge/hangout spot. If I’m cooking, cleaning, or just sitting on the couch and want a comfortable place for them to be, this is the spot, and they love it!
2. Bottle feeding – If you plan to bottle feed and want to feed both babies at the same time, this Twin Z pillow is perfect. It’s so easy to just prop them up on this pillow and give them their bottles!
3. Helps with Reflux – My babies had terrible reflux and needed to sit up at least 30 minutes after they ate. This pillow is a nice place to sit them where they can sit upright and not spit up as much! Much needed!
4. Tummy Time – All parents know that tummy time isn’t always the best time. When I tried tummy time in other places it would last for about 2 minutes and then they were over it. Not to mention the poor face plants that would happen 🙁
However, with the Twin Z pillow they did their tummy time for as long as they could with no crying…or face-planting due to the propped-up position it keeps them in!
At the time they weren’t quite 4 months, so this pillow offered head stability, and support since they’re still a little wobbly.
5. Safe -When we brought our twins home, they weren’t even 5 lbs., and we felt safe placing them in this nursing pillow to lounge and nap!
6. Comfortable – The actual pillow is soft, and the outer pillow cover is also a soft material, so the babies are very comfortable throughout the day.
7. Washable Cover – Being that this gets used every day and is in the living room; it’s nice that you can take the cover off and wash it! It’s a huge plus!
I have washed and dried it a few times and the material has held up nicely!
8. Best place for both babies to chill and be next to each other – I honestly don’t know where they would comfortably relax had we not had this Twin Z pillow. (Especially since they were not that fond of their swings! 🙂
DISLIKE OF TWIN Z PILLOW
1. Loses its shape – I only dislike how fast the pillow lost shape and became a little flat on the side that was used most. (But it is a pillow, right?) Now, granted, my toddler does at times lean and lay on this pillow too, so I’m sure that has something to do with it, but just beware because I found myself after almost 5 months of use having to prop it up with another pillow to get my twins in certain positions.
Another thing that could be unappealing for some people depending on their available space could be the size. However, I wouldn’t call it a dislike, because it fits perfectly on the end of my sectional couch. It does take up a bit of space though.
You could also put it on the floor or your bed, so it would still work for you even if you’re not placing it on your couch.
OVERALL
Overall, I love this Twin Z pillow for all the reasons listed above and would highly recommend it to anyone with twins or even multiple small children. It is a must-have item for sure!
